An anti-bacterial pen spray gently infused with the line’s enigmatic perfume, Against Nature, inspired by the decadent 1884 book of the same name by Joris-Karl Huysmans, Against Nature (or À Rebours). Acclaimed for its account of an eccentric recluse, the protagonist shelters in his chateau to construct fantastic, artificial worlds around himself. Lesser known is the book’s original title, which was in fact, Alone (or Seul). Its former moniker epitomises the bizarre, even heady experience of social withdrawal, and for many, the enduring desire to express, even in isolation.
Housed in a minimalist glass, pen-sized bottle, the spray consists of 62% alcohol, infused with organic aloe and vegetable glycerin for the skin, and a light fragrance blend of Against Nature’s fresh sapling, and peppery floral notes.
The spray is sanitisation grade and produced to BS EN 1276¹ standards, using a safe and effective amount of alcohol, balanced with protective ingredients which mitigate its drying effects and help keep skin soft.
Contains approximately 170 sprays, averaging five sprays a day for an entire month, or up to 24 a day for the most avid sprayers, for the duration of a week!
A response to a fluctuating pandemic, this spray is for the conscientious rebels and aesthetes among us, looking for a subtle autonomy in a strange new normal.
¹ This European Standard specifies a test method and the minimum requirements for bactericidal activity of chemical disinfectant and antiseptic products. To qualify for this standard, a disinfectant must effectively kill 99.999% of bacteria within 5 minutes of use.
